User's Guide - Levels

As you gain .

For every 100 experience points you gain, you will gain a skill point (SKP). To train a skill, you must first have skill points equal to the level to which you want to train the skill. For example, training Melee to level 3 requires 3 skill points, training Melee to level 4 requires another 4 skill points, etc.

When you have unspent skill points and are ready to train, you will need to seek out a trainer. Trainers generally live in villages, but not always.

Sometimes before you can train skill A, you must first train skill B. This means that skill B is a parent skill of skill A. For example, before you can become an expert in one handed blunt weapons, you first must have an understanding of melee combat in general. So Melee is a parent skill of Blunt1H.
