User's Guide - Faction
Faction represents how your character is viewed by other races and groups. Your faction standing with a paricular group will determine if they trust and respect you or if they flat out won't tolerate your presense. Your character has different stadings with many factions.
For example, if you are from Sanctimonia, you will start with good (or at least neutral) standing with the Akazi people. If you were to kill some Akazi and word spread of your evil deeds, the Akazi would begin to be suspicious of you and you would no longer be welcome in their village. The Emuri, however, are at war with the Akazi, so they may actually think highly of you for helping them to reduce the Akazi numbers. The undead could care less about any of you, and your standing with them would probably not change.
There is currently no direct way to check your faction standing, so the best advice is to think about the consequences of your actions before killing anyone or anything.
